Psychotherapy and Counselling

Tricia Worthington

A very warm welcome to my website.

More than ever people are recognising the need to explore difficult feelings with a professional therapist. Often the stresses of modern life and the conflicting demands made of us can begin to feel unbearable. Acknowledging that there is a problem or difficulty can be a very hard thing to do. For many people, coming to the decision to ask for help is not easy.

I am a qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor based in Bishopston, Bristol, providing short and long term therapy to individuals.

I use an Integrative approach because it is effective and flexible. The therapy can be adapted to suit individual needs. CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and CAT (cognitive analytical therapy) can be useful and are incorporated into my work.

I strongly believe in the importance of the relationship between the therapist and the client and in finding the most appropriate way of working with an individual.

Some of the issues I work with include depression (post-natal and perinatal), anxiety, addictions, drugs and alcohol abuse, traumatic events, self-harm, panic attacks, bereavement, loss, phobias, low self-esteem, stress, suicidal feelings, isolation, anger, relationship problems, violence and abuse, eating disorders, work related issues, psychosomatic symptoms and obsessions.

My aim is to provide a safe, confidential and supportive environment which is useful and challenging, and one that promotes self-awareness and personal development.

I endeavour to help my clients work towards having:

"the capacity to love, to enjoy work and creativity, to be at ease with oneself and to feel alive."

If you were to contact me I would recommend that we meet for an initial consultation so that we can explore the issues for which you are seeking assistance. I can then give you an idea of whether I can help and how we could work together.

To get in touch, you can contact me by telephone on 07962 892060 or by email at tricia@bristol-psychotherapycounselling.co.uk.
